Tidal Treasures

Homer's Kachemak Bay has the second most extreme tidal fluctuations in the world, behind Canada's Bay of Fundy.

Exploring the beaches during these low tides is a treat, and provides the opportunity to enjoy the underwater world right at your feet.

One of the best spots to view seastars is at the Spit Beach.  We make the journey down here as often as we can, and we're always enamored by the colors, textures and sizes.
